MY STROKE RECOVERY STORY
On April 12, 2022, I awakened around 2:00 am. I sat up in bed and felt like something was wrong with me. I got up and took a shower, hoping it would make me feel better. It was a feeling that was impossible to describe. I felt a little weak, although I could walk, talk, even drive my car, as I did later that day. I did not seek medical care until 36 hours had passed, as I was now finding it difficult to walk unassisted. I was struck by a car as a pedestrian in 1996 and have a cane that I used during recovery from several knee surgeries.
I went to the emergency room of a local hospital as a passenger in my friend’s Corvette on April 13, 2022. I walked in the hospital using my cane and told hospital personnel I thought I had a stroke in my sleep the previous day. Diagnostic tests that included an MRI and Cat Scan confirmed it was a stroke, and I remained in the hospital and was released home on April 15, 2022, which was Good Friday.
Going home was the beginning of my Divine Healing, and I owe my recovery to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. HE healed me. On Easter Sunday I was back to loading and off-loading the dishwasher, walking unassisted within a week of my release from the hospital. I refused physical therapy as I elected to receive acupuncture and see a chiropractor, all very helpful in my recovery.
